General Information

  • Regular season runs from April til mid July with playoffs in late July and August
  • Co-ed, 4-on-4, non-contact, adult inline hockey league run out of Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam and North/West Van, with games being played out of local community centres
  • Various tiers and regions depending on the number of teams (approx 110) and different skill levels (beginner to advanced)
  • Teams will mostly play against teams in their own region but may also play against teams in other regions that are of a comparable skill level
  • 18 regular season games and every team makes the playoffs (which will either be double knockout or best of 3 series)
  • Two 20 minute (stop time) periods during regulation with a 4 minute, 3-on-3 overtime followed by a 2-on-2 overtime followed by a sudden death shootout if necessary (OT in playoffs will be 4-on-4, 3-on-3 then 2-0n-2)
  • Scoring: 2 pts win, 1 pt for overtime loss (there will be no ties)
  • Forfeited games will not be replayed and will result in a loss for the opposing team
  • Up-to-date team and player statistics provided by Pointstreak (including: goals, assists, points per game, penalty minutes, game winning goals, power play goals, shorthanded goals, GAA, save %, shots on goal)
  • Game MVP’s picked for every game and posted on the gamesheet.
  • 2 Referees and 1 scorekeeper at every game
  • Player draft for each tier at the end of March so that teams can add individual players to their roster
  • As members of the BCIHA, we are overseen by a governing body and we are able to send teams to participate in various tournaments
  • All-star game and skills competition with barbeque mid-season for each tier
  • End of season team and individual awards (MVP, Most points, Most Goals, Best Goalie, Best Defenseman and Most Sportsmanlike for each tier)
  • Social gatherings during the season to give people a chance to hang out with other players.
